Every year a very select handful of extraordinary students from around the nation are awarded scholarships from the Foundation for Rural Education and Development (FRED) presented by the Organization for the Promotion and Advancement of Small Telecommunications Companies. It’s a highly prestigious honor that fields thousands of submissions and only about one hundred winners.
We’re very proud to announce that a student we sponsored, Anlan Cheny of Cody, NE, is one of those winners. She will receive a $1,000 scholarship, which she intends to use to pursue a Juris Doctorate degree. Cheny has actively sought out many scholarships and grants to help minimize the cost of school.
Anlan was a standout student at Cody-Kilgore High School where she earned a 3.9+ GPA and received multiple letters for academics, arts and athletics. She is also a wonderful contributor to her community, volunteering for a range of organizations. We’re sure she has an incredibly bright future ahead of her.
