This past week, the Great Plains Communications’ family lost a dear employee. Patty Armstrong, wife of fellow longtime employee Tim Armstrong, succumbed to her battle with cancer.
The funeral service was held on April 22nd at Salem Lutheran Church and Patty was then laid to rest at the Ponca cemetery, a city where she spent much of her life. There was also a visitation prayer service held on the 21st at First Christian Church in Blair.
Patty was born in 1951 and grew up on a farm in Crofton. She graduated from Crofton High School and went on to graduate from Stewart’s School of Hairstyling in Sioux City, Iowa.
Before working for Great Plains Communications, Patty owned and operated a beauty salon in Bloomfield before working at a hair salon in Ponca for 22 years. She started working for us in 1999 and stayed until she was diagnosed with cancer.
We all kept Patty in our prayers during her fight and we will continue to pray for her and her family for a long time to come. Everyone at Great Plains Communications was better for knowing this wonderful woman.
We encourage you to read her full obituary here to discover even more about this amazing woman. If you were lucky enough to know her, we encourage you to leave a story in the comments section below.
