As we think about fitness this week with our Fit Social Giveaway on Facebook, let’s focus on food – breakfast foods to be exact. What we put in our bodies is a big part of staying healthy and reaching those 2019 resolutions, along with staying active. While breakfast is very important to get your metabolism working and start your day off on a healthy foot, not everybody is too excited about jumping in the kitchen in the a.m., especially with the busy schedules of life. So Great Plains Communications wants to help! We have looked to our cable channel, Food Network, for some of our favorite healthy, but still flavorful, breakfast recipes.
4 Whole30 Breakfast Recipes
Taking part in Whole30 or just want to see what the recipes are like? Unlike other diets or meal plans, these four recipes will have you feeling not only full but satisfied. They are packed full of protein and comforting flavors such as apple, sweet potato, and yes, BACON (sugar free)! All of these recipes can also be made ahead and placed in the freezer to reheat as needed.
Bobby’s Blueberry-Pomegranate Power Bowl
Breakfast bowls and “power bowls” have been a fad for a couple years now, but it is because they are delicious! This recipe gets thickness from blended oats, sweetness from the fruit and crunch from the protein packed crumble.
Overnight Carrot Cake Oats
Like Bobby Flay’s power bowl, these oats need to be made ahead of time so that the oats can soak up all the flavor from carrots, sugar and vanilla extract. The next morning, all you have to do is grab your jar and toppings and head to work. You will find yourself with a sweet, yet wholesome breakfast right at your desk.
How to Eat Salad for Breakfast
If you lean more toward the savory side of breakfast foods, this recipe could be for you. The vinaigrette is tart and sweet from the fresh orange, which goes well with the peppery bite of the arugula. Place it all on the crowd pleasing avocado toast and you have a breakfast that will have your taste buds dancing.
