As we get ready for 2011, we can’t help taking a look back through the last year. It’s been a big year for Great Plains Communications as we finish celebrating our 100th anniversary of serving the communications needs of its customers.
We started in 1910 when founder E.C Hunt moved his young bride to Creighton, Nebraska so he could take the position of General Manager at the Camp Dewey Telephone Company. The Hunt family has continued to grow and expand the reach of Great Plains Communications making it the largest independent telecommunications company in the State of Nebraska.
Over the years, technology has changed in every way imaginable. From the old days of party lines stretching out into the country side to advance fiber optics and high speed data services, Great Plains Communications has been dedicated to providing the most advanced services to our customers.
We stretch from the Missouri River in the East to the Panhandle in the West, from the Kansas border to South Dakota. We are a part of the rural fabric of the state and are proud to have called Nebraska our home for 100 years. We would like to thank all of our customers for their years of dedication to our company. Here’s to making the next 100 years of service just as great!
