Here at Great Plains Communications, the holiday season is marked by one of our favorite programs. The annual “Support Our Troops Program” provided free shipping for more than 200 USPS goodie boxes to troops serving overseas last year. It’s our way of helping customers provide a little piece of home to their family members while they are serving far away.
This year we are reaching out with even more ways to honor those who defend this great country of ours. We’re working on two new video projects to honor Nebraska men and women who have served in the U.S. military.
For our first project, our video department is putting together a tribute featuring photos and service dates of Nebraskans who have served. If you would like to include a military man or woman in this tribute, we ask that you send us a digital photo of the honoree along with the dates they served to [email protected] by November 1st, 2011. If there is any additional information, such as honors or awards, that you would like to include, please let us know that as well.
The second project is tied closely to our current troops program. If you sent or received a holiday goodie box using the Great Plains Communications’ Troops Program, we would love to interview you to hear how the program affected you. These videos will also play on our local channel and online throughout the holiday season.
