Recently a fellow Phone company in Madison, WI released a warning about fraudulent calls that were being placed to their customers telling them that their accounts were in jeopardy.  These calls provide another number for the customer to call, where they are asked for their personal information.

These types of calls happen to phone companies big and small, but there are steps that you can take to protect yourself.

  1.  Always call our Customer Response Center – If you receive a phone call that asks you to call another number to speak about your account, be suspicious.  If you have any doubts, we recommend that you call our Customer Response Center at 1-888-343-8014BsAt4ube4GblQIAAAAASUVORK5CYII=.  They can always reroute the call, if necessary.
  2. Enroll in eBill – When you enroll in eBill you can view your account information any time.  It’s a fast and easy way to double-check what’s going on with your account.  You’ll be able to check payment history, your current bill, your long-distance usage, and much more.
  3. Know what we will and won’t ask – When you call us, we will ask you to verify your personal PIN.  We won’t ask you to immediately provide payment or bank account information.  If you are asked for a credit card number or bank account information and are even a little suspicious, it’s best to err on the side of caution and hang up and call 1-888-343-8014BsAt4ube4GblQIAAAAASUVORK5CYII=.
  4. Let us know – If you do receive a fake call that appears to come from us, but asks you to call a different number, please let us know.  We will do our very best to make sure other customers are aware of the danger.
