There is still time to travel this summer! But maybe you don’t want to take on the expenses of flying, well you don’t have to. With the 2016 Nebraska Passport Program, you will discover new things our beautiful state has to offer in each of the 80 stops. The program runs from May 1 through September 30, 2016 and you have multiple options for getting started. To request your passport booklet, you can either pick one up from one of the 80 official destinations, receive it by mail, call 402.471.3796, or send your name and mailing address to [email protected]. There’s even an app you can download!
So what exactly is the 2016 Nebraska Passport Program?
It is a way for people to not only see new parts of the state of Nebraska, but interact with the communities they visit. As stated on the Nebraska Passport website, “Nebraska Passport tours this year highlight the 100th Anniversary of our National Park System, the unique farm to table culinary movement that exists in our state, incredible small businesses, and lofty heights.” Just a few of the exciting stops on the 2016 map include:
Bean Broker 2nd Street Coffee House & Pub in Chadron, NE – Rise ‘N Shine Tour
Custer County Museum in Broken Bow, NE – Where Art Thou Tour
Eat Restaurant in Dodge, NE – Order Up Tour
Country Junction Antiques in Neligh, NE – Prairie Treasure
These are just a few of the 80 locations across the state, with many more in Great Plains Communications communities. Check if one is in your area, for a great starting point to your trip. The more stamps you collect, the bigger the prize your family could win. For a list of the prizes and additional information, visit their website nebraskapassport.com. There is still time this summer to get out and enjoy the amazing state we live in, have fun and get going!
