Here at Great Plains Communications, we’re very committed to helping Nebraska grow and thrive, which is why we were so excited to find out that one of our employees was recently honored by the Partnership for Rural Nebraska.
Tim Armstrong, a Regional Manager who has been with Great Plains Communications for nearly 40 years, was presented with the Connecting Nebraska Award during the November Governor’s Conference on Rural Development held in Kearney, Neb.
If you ask us, he certainly deserved it for all of his hard work making this great state that we serve even better. He is a member of the Nebraska Diplomats, the Northeast Nebraska Development Network and the Grow Nebraska Advisory Board, which has helped to create and retain more than 2,200 jobs in Nebraska.
Armstrong was nominated by his peers in the Northeast Nebraska Development Network. The network includes more than 475 member organizations representing more than 8,000 individuals across the State of Nebraska. The organization awarding Armstrong, the Partnership for Rural Nebraska, is made up of three organizations: USDA-Rural Development, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and the State of Nebraska. They are committed to supporting, both financially and resourcefully, the seven Development Network groups that represent each part of the state.
In addition to employees such as Armstrong who work on the “big picture” for our state, we also have several employees who serve their communities everyday by serving as firefighters and first responders.
Is there someone in your Great Plains Communications’ community who is making a real difference? We would love to hear about them in our comments section!
