Earlier this week, we reviewed our picks for the truly scary movies that are gracing the Cable airwaves leading up to Halloween.  But not every ghost story and Halloween tale is quite so scary.  We’ve rounded up some great options to enjoy with your whole family.

Toy Story of TERROR!

Airing on Oct. 25 at 8pm & Oct. 26 at 11am on Disney Channel

While many movies that migrate to TV don’t live up to the originals, this one looks pretty darn good.  Plus kids will love to see the return of their favorite characters including Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Calamity Jane. The plot, a toy goes missing and everyone else must find it, harkens back to the movie plots that made the trilogy so enjoyable.

Ghostbusters

Airing on Oct. 31 at 8:30pm on Comedy Central

Fact: there are few things better than a giant marshmallow man terrorizing New York City. With a truly fantastic cast and an old school charm, Ghostbusters was an instant classic.  The spooky and silly 1984 classic included stars such as Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Sigourney Weaver.

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Airing on Oct. 31 at 8pm on ABC

We all know the story in this classic 1966 animated special. While the Peanuts gang is celebrating Halloween, Linus spends his time hoping that finally, he will be visited by The Great Pumpkin.  While this family-friendly classic is on every year, 2013 will also feature a bonus Peanuts cartoon, You’re Not Elected, Charlie Brown.

Enjoy your trick-or-treating, the spooky (but fun) movies and make sure to stay safe!
