Jim Weston

Great Plains Communications has lost a dear friend.  Jim Weston, one of our finest employees, passed away from cancer on Friday, May 25.

As a man, Jim was a good friend and a kind neighbor.  As a co-worker, Jim was passionate about his craft and a generous team player.  He took initiative to stay ahead of the curve, learning new skills and technologies often putting in extra hours to read training manuals.

As an eminent role model, he had a deep belief in the power of extraordinary customer service and often took it upon himself to go above and beyond.  In addition to being a true example, he also actively mentored other members of the Great Plains Communications team.  He continued to provide training and guidance even after he officially retired.

Jim was a great friend to many at Great Plains Communications.  In his nearly 30 years of service, he left a distinct mark on the company that will not be forgotten.

A visitation was held Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, 444 South 17th Street in Blair on Tuesday, May 29 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 6 p.m.  The funeral service was held at  1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, 2005 Davis Drive in Blair.
