Did you experience problems when accessing Facebook this morning and/or last night? If so, you weren’t alone. Facebook was experiencing a temporary outage. Websites across the worldwide web periodically go down for a number of reasons, such as software updates or general system issues. However, due to the nearly 1.5 billion Facebook users, their issues are recognized at a very fast rate. Great Plains Communications wants to share a few steps to take next time you notice one of your favorite sites isn’t working correctly.

  • Don’t Panic
    • Like we said, websites go down all the time. This is no reason to stress. While downtimes do vary, they are often resolved as quickly as possible. Facebook for example had their longest downtime of 2.5 hours in September, 2010 after there was “an unfortunate handling of an error condition”.
  • Check If it is the Website or Your Connection
  • Call if it is a Connection Problem
    • Great Plains Communications will never restrict you from accessing a specific website, so if you check and nobody else seems to be having problems loading a website, give us a call. You can reach our Customer Response Center at 1-855-853-1483 and a technician would be happy to assist you.
