When you think of your Smartphone and tablet, you may not immediately think of your home Internet connection.  However, that would be a big mistake.

In a world where you can stream Husker games live, download whole software programs onto your device and even video chat with anyone in the world, super-low cellular data caps can wreak havoc on your budget.  Most cellular companies only allow you to access 2-5 GB of data each month.  That means if you enjoy just one day of BTN2GO, then you could reach your monthly limit!

So what is the solution if you don’t want to give up the cool services your phone and tablet provide?

The solution is your home wireless connection!  If you are out in the garage or watching the game while BBQ’ing for friends, your device can actually use your wireless connection to access the Internet without eating into your monthly cellular data limit.  It’s not just at home either.  When you are anywhere where Wi-Fi is offered for use, you can use that connection instead of your cell service.

The benefits of using a Wi-Fi network instead of a cellular one don’t end with escaping ultra-low data caps!  The much more stable Wi-Fi alternative means that your phone isn’t constantly searching for a signal.  This takes much less battery and hastens download times since the data doesn’t start and stop.  If you are the type who likes to play games on their phone or iPad, you will notice that there is normally less buffering on a Wi-Fi connection.
